Antique, Edwardian Muslin Dress With Ruffles - Extra Small
This ethereal Edwardian cotton muslin dress is light as a feather and quite sheer. It would make a beautiful wedding dress.
The gown has a totally plain bodice with a slightly raised waist and a high V neck. Neck and sleeve edges are trimmed with cotton lace. Both skirt and bodice are gathered to the waistband. The skirt has two wide ruffles shaped to meet at the front, and trimmed with lace. The dress opens at the centre back and then across the waistband and down one side to below the hip, closing with shell buttons at the top and little hooks and eyes across the waistband and at the side. You will need to wear a slip beneath as it is totally sheer. A custom made garment, there are no tags. 1900s-1910s.
