There's nothing like antique whites for a romantic summer look.
Antique, Edwardian white cotton blouse style top was probably originally a pyjama top. Decorated with hand embroidery and eyelet work, it makes a lovely blouse. It has a high neck and buttons beneath a placket at the back and has below elbow sleeves with scalloped, embroidered edges. There is a tie fixed at the back which would have been worn tied at the front. This is a homemade garment - 1910s.
Measurements
Small
- Bust 81 cm (32"), worn full
- Waist 63 cm max. if you want to tie the tie. Can go a bit larger if you wear it loose.
- Sleeve 33 cm (13") from the underarm.
- Length at the front 53 cm (21")
- Length at the back 45.5 cm (18")
Condition
Fair but very wearable. There is a collection of repairs. I disguised some holes on the back by adding to the embroidery. There is a darned patch at the front of the neckline and a patch at the back of the neck. There is a light yellowish mark on the front. It's starting to fray from the seam at one underarm.
