Hip length, deep pink silk boudoir jacket or lounging top is very loose fitting and has slits at the sides acting as slashed armholes. It has an unusual, inverted U shaped sack back. There were some rows of gathering at the shoulders although much of this has come unstitched. A small, lace trimmed pocket on one side front. The wide ecru cotton lace edging also forms a narrow yoke at the shoulders. Closes at the front with two snaps. Homemade garment. Late 1910s-1920s.
Bust 96-102 cm (38-40”) allows for a loose fit. Shown on a mannequin with 86 cm bust, so also works on a smaller figure.
Length 61 cm (24”)
Fair. There are a number of small holes, the worst section is the lower side back. Also a hole in the top front above some shadowy marks, circled in the photo. A few other small holes, a hole or two and a small mark on the lace. The shoulder gathers have come unstitched. I have added an extra snap to make the lace sit properly when the top is fastened.
