Wounded but still fabulous black knee length rayon crepe dress has a pleated skirt, with the pleats stitched down to below the hips. It has a high, round neck and a bodice panel with pin tuck detailing and welts giving the appearance of little pockets, but there are none. The sleeves are pleated into the sleeve head and have padded headers. Closes with a row of wooden bead buttons and thread loops at the neck and with snaps at the side. No labels - 1938 or 1939.
Dry clean only. In addition, I recommend you use underarm shields with all dresses of this age, especially those that can't be washed.

Fair and wearable. Some fade and wear to the fabric at the shoulders, fade is worse on the left shoulder and sleeve. The right shoulder is patched at the head, as shown and also shows significant wear to the fabric. However, the patch has stabilised the area. The original belt is missing. Two tiny holes in the skirt.
