Regular price $120.00

Navy blue rayon crepe dress bears the label of British utility clothing, made to comply with the government's wartime austerity regulations from 1942-1952.

Mid-calf length dress has below elbow sleeves, draping at the V neckline, fabric flower trim and shoulder pads. Skirt is pleated into the waist, pleats are unpressed. Closes at the side with a metal zipper. There are belt loops at the waist but the belt has been lost. Made by Jean Joyce. Bears the CC 41 label - Late 1940s.

Measurements

Medium

  • Bust 91 cm (36")
  • Waist 74 cm (29")
  • Hips 96 cm (38")
  • Shoulders 37 cm (14.5")
  • Back 36 cm (14.25")
  • Sleeve 42 cm (16.5")
  • Shoulder to waist 40.5 cm (16")

Condition

Fair. The main issue is the thinning of the fabric at the underarms. I have added some adhesive patches to the inside to reinforce and stabilise the area. This can't be seen when the dress is being worn. Also, a couple of small holes, one in a sleeve and one in the upper back. The belt is missing.
