Copper faux silk shantung evening dress is beautifully finished with a cluster of fabric roses at the top of the rear vent. It's otherwise quite a simple design, with the long, straight skirt pleated into the waistline, narrow flat straps and rear metal zipper closure. The fabric looks like silk shantung but is in fact rayon. Fully lined. The inside shows tulle padding at the hips. No label, it's a custom made dress. Late 1950s.
Bust 94 cm (37")
Waist 71 cm (28")
Hips 102-107 cm (40-42")
Shoulder to waist 40 cm (15.75")
Length 140 cm (55.25")
Good. There is a small hole right in the front of the bodice. I would wear a brooch over it. The zip has been replaced, not so neat, as shown. A couple of pin prick sized holes in the back of the skirt.
