Antique, Edwardian Blouse With Lace and Embroidery - Bust 107 cm
Edwardian white cotton blouse has a square neck edged with bobbin lace. Long sleeves are edged with the same lace. It's slightly gathered into panels at the side of the hips. The front features beautiful lace insertion work bordered with spoke stitching and a central embroidered motif. There are lace patches on the back of the shoulders. There are no closures - pullover. No tags - 1910s.
Bust 107 cm (42")
Waist to 107 cm (42")
Hips to 117 cm (46")
Sleeve 39.5 cm (15.5") measured from the underarm
Length 63.5 cm (25")
Good - wearable with care. There is an old patch at the centre back. I have added the lace patches at the back of the shoulders to cover some small holes and a threadbare area, the patches are a brighter white than the antique white of the blouse. Some repairs to the lace at the neck and an old V shaped patch at the shoulder seam, see photo. A small hole in the front and two in the back. There was once elastic at the wrists but no longer.
