Antique Victorian, Edwardian Blouse With High Lace Neck
Beautiful and romantic cotton lawn blouse from the first decade of the 20th century.
The blouse is gathered into a waist band and has a ruffle below the band. It has delightful, shaped below elbow sleeves trimmed with cotton lace. There are pin tucks front and back. The yoke and high standing collar are ornate cotton lace. It buttons closed at the back, you will need a friend to button you up! 1900-1909.
Extra Small - Please check the waist & back measurements as this is where it's smallest.
Bust to 86 cm (34")
Waist 59.5 cm (23.5") - it would have been worn over a corset
Shoulders 36 cm (14.25")
Back 31.5 cm (12.5")
Sleeve 42.5 cm (16.75")
Length 52 cm (20.5")
Neck 39 cm (15.5") at the base of the neck, 35.5 cm (14") at the top
Very good. There are a few pin prick sized holes near the waist which are lost in the gathers, a small hole in the top of one sleeve and one in the front near the lace (see photos) and a few minor breaks in the lace which are not noticeable. There was no closure on the back of the neck and I have added some shell buttons and thread loops.
