Victorian tan silk mantle is shaped to cover the arms but does not have sleeves. There is a heavy silk thread fringe trimming all edges. The fabric is an interesting textured silk with a self stripe. Closes at the front with two hooks and eyes. It's lined with heavy cotton and appears to be entirely hand stitched - 1880s.
Shoulders 33 cm (13")
Length at the front 66 cm (26")
Length at the back 52 cm (20.5")
Fair. It has a lot of small holes, which I have stitched to the cotton backing to make them less obvious. Two larger holes over one sleeve area, 1- 1.5 cm (5/8-1/2"). Some fade on one side of the front and a shoulder and a few small spots.
