Art Deco Black Silk Dress With Contrast Collar and Cuffs - 1930s
Beautiful mid-calf length black silk dress has cream silk charmeuse contrast collar overlays and wonderful shaped cuffs, trimmed with fabulous black and white buttons at the bodice and cuffs. It has a raised waistline, sitting below the bust, with a fixed fabric belt which fastens with press studs. It has a flared skirt and closes at the side with press studs - Early 1930s.
Extra Small/Small - Best worn full on a small frame as the dress is fitted at the back and sleeves and stress to the fabric needs to be avoided.
Best fit bust to 81 cm
Waist/Under bust to 84 cm (33")
Shoulders 34 cm (13.5")
Back 34 cm (13.5)
Sleeve 51 cm (20"), fitted closely around the armholes.
Shoulder to waist 38 cm (15")
Length 119 cm (47")
Very good condition. The black silk is strong but stress should be avoided due to its age. The cream silk charmeuse of the collar and cuffs is more delicate. The collar and cuffs have been carefully turned to hide some marks and holes, which are now underneath and not visible. The silk at the cuffs has split in a few places, see the largest split in the last photo.
