White, backless, cotton marcella waistcoat for very formal occasions. Waistcoat has shawl lapels with square ends and two front jetted fob pockets. The elastic at the back has been replaced. This is adjustable - the buckle is not original. The three shell buttons at the front have been sewn on. If you are lucky enough to have detachable waistcoat buttons, you can easily remove the sewn buttons. The strap behind the neck has buttons for length adjustment. The lining has a self-stripe. Made in England by Akco. 1940s-1950s.
Measurements
Marked 44, but the elastic is not original so this alters the size
- Width at the waist 47.5 cm (8.7")
- Waist fits 96 cm (38") at maximum adjustment
- Length 49.5 cm (19.5") to shoulder. There are three buttonholes each side for adjustment behind the neck.
