Lower-calf length, blue, hand smocked summer robe has honeycomb smocking at the shoulders and midriff. The edges are finished with scalloped machine embroidery. The elbow length sleeves are gathered at the head. The maker originally intended to smock the sleeve edges as well as you can see the remains of the guiding dots for stitching. Closes at the front with three fancy blue and gold buttons and loops. The inside seam edges have been left raw. The fabric is a lightweight polyester which has the feel of silk - 1980s.
