Traditional Austrian folk dress. This is a winter dirndl - traditionally, a white scarf would be worn tucked into the neckline like a fichu.
Cobalt blue winter cotton fabric has a slightly fleecy backing. The skirt is pleated into the raised waistline and hand gathered at the back. The sleeves are very full and gathered at the head, then taper to become fitted around the forearms and wrists, where they are slit and close with snap fasteners. The square neckline is trimmed with black velvet and gold braid. The back bodice has shaped panels and piping. The bodice is lined with contrasting red checked fabric. Opens at the front to below the waist and closes with gold buttons and snap fasteners. One seam pocket hidden in a front pleat! Knee length. Hand finished garment. The brand is M.Beurle - Gemunden & Wels, Austria.

Very good. The velvet neck trim is worn bald and there are two very small holes right on the hemline at the front, not noticeable.
