White cotton slip now makes a delightfully romantic and cool summer dress.
Above knee length slip is hand embroidered across the bust and includes drawn thread work and the monogram of the owner, who most likely made it - OG (or GO). I like to imagine her as Olive Goodman.
There is a large inverted pleat in the back and it has shoestring straps which do not adjust.
Homemade garment - 1920s.
Bust 89-92 cm (35-36")
Waist to 91 cm (36")
Hips to 102 cm (40")
Length 86 cm (34")
Good, including some old and new mends. There is a very old 22 cm (8.5") darn inside the back pleat and a small neat old darn at the top of the pleat. The straps have been reinforced with zig zagging to reduce fraying. The hem has been turned up to hide fraying at the edge.
