Fabulous mid-calf length summer robe or dressing gown has contrast burgundy/maroon shawl collar and sleeve bands. Two front patch pockets also have contrast bands. Originally, there would have been a tie but this has been lost. The fabric is a lovely soft cotton. There are no labels and it's difficult to estimate the age, but as it has been sewn with cotton thread (not polyester), does not have the dropped shoulder usual on later vintage robes and has curved pockets, also unusual, I think it would have been made before the 1960s.
Medium - Please check the back measurements as this is where it's smallest.
Chest 96 cm (38")
Shoulders 46 cm (18")
Back 40.5 cm (16")
Sleeve 57 cm (22.5")
Length from below the collar at the back 119.5 cm (47")
Fair but presents well. There is some minor color run as well as wear to the seams. There are a number of thinning patches and small holes in the fabric, including at the back of the neck. Hand washing is recommended.
