Vintage Lace Trimmed Net Jabot, Bib Collar - Dress Trim
This cream cotton net jabot trimmed with cotton lace edging would have been used to accessorise a dress. Used in the 19th century and popular in Edwardian times, they were also very popular during the 1940s when women had to use their ingenuity to make an old dress look new because rationing wouldn't allow them to have a new dress.
The lace of this jabot looks older than the pin, and I suspect an old piece of lace was used creatively, possibly during the '40s, to make the jabot.
16.5 x 25.5 cm (6.5 x 10")
Very good. There are a few small brown marks on the back, near the pin, but not visible from the front. Two pin prick sized holes in the lace, not noticeable.
