Collectors' piece.
Unusual and delightful lingerie piece - this embroidered linen combing jacket would have been worn by a woman while she was setting or styling her hair. The sides are completely open and the front is held in place with a ribbon tie - wear with a bra type top beneath. This one is hand embroidered with flowers. A little picot edge has been crocheted all around the edges in pink. It's so sweet, I love the way the neck has been embroidered to give the illusion of a square collar. A blue ribbon serves as a tie, threaded through eyelet holes at the waist. Homemade garment - 1920s.
