Palest peach silk boudoir jacket is very loose-fitting and is in fact all cut in one piece of fabric. Wear it loose or tied at the waist.
The silk is very fine and light. The jacket has a dropped shoulder and the wide armholes are just spaces in the side seams. With the dropped shoulder and the being very wide, this forms a short sleeve. The front and armhole edges are trimmed with scalloped white cotton lace. Pink neck binding and silk satin ribbon at the waist and neck . This a hand stitched homemade garment. Late 1910s-early 1920s.
Measurements
Large - worn loose-fitting
- Bust 101-107 cm (40-42")
- Length 69 cm (27")
Condition
Fair. Two holes in the front are lost in the fullness and some spots on one shoulder. The silk is sound and not showing any sign of dry rot or shattering. However, there are a number of light age marks as well as some very faint pinky marks. I did not notice any of these until I put it in bright light to photograph.
