Black satin damask lightweight coat, probably once part of an evening ensemble.
Above-knee to knee length fairly straight coat. It has a wide notched collar and lapels, three button closure and shaped slit sleeve detail at the wrists. There are shoulder pads and the the coat is fully lined. It is a homemade garment, so no fabric label, but it appears to be rayon. 1960s.
Measurements
Medium
- Bust 97 cm (38")
- Shoulders 41 cm (16")
- Back 41 cm (16")
- Sleeve 56 cm (22")
- Lapel width 10 cm (4")
- Length 100.5 cm (39.5")
Condition
Good. There is a small, light mark on the front, as shown. The bound buttonholes are a little frayed at the corners. If you look hard, you might find a line on each side of the mid front with a stitch at each end, where a trim appears to have been unpicked and removed. Not noticeable.
