Chessa Davis was famous for her peasant style skirts based on peddler or gypsy skirts. Often trinkets were tied onto the skirts as peddler's had done, hence the ribbons around the hem. Read more about Chessa Davis skirts here.
This skirt is a pleated blue and peach floral on a white ground. Green and navy grosgrain ribbon trims above the hem ruffle, which is a complementary fabric, the design being a smaller version of the main fabric. Navy ribbon at the hem. Green ribbons are suspended from the ribbon trim around the hem in her trademark style. The waist is on elastic and there is a tie at the front which can be used for slight size adjustment. Fabric is polyester, with the open weave look of linen. Made in the USA by Chessa Davis - 1970s.
Top is not included.
