eautiful deep turquoise dress is a halter neck mini dress in shiny imitation silk shantung with a long, pleated chiffon overlay falling from beneath the bust. A vintage diamante brooch completes the look. The colour is brighter and more vivid than appears in the photos, it was shiny and difficult to photograph.
The shaped neckline extends into the halter, which closes with buttons and loops at the back of the neck. The dress is fully lined and closes with a zip in the back. The chiffon closes with invisible plastic press studs to conceal the zip at the back. It's a custom made dress, so there are no labels. The brooch is very old. It has a silver tone setting and a C clasp to close. The fabric appears to be an imitation silk shantung, probably rayon. The overlay is permanently pleated, probably polyester. 1970s.
