Antique, Edwardian blouse was once an item of underwear, specifically, a corset cover. The mesh netting fabric is completely sheer and has been hand embroidered with cream and mauve flowers beneath the neck. A narrow cream edging has been crocheted at the neck and sleeve edges, which has been threaded through with pink ribbon. Garment is cut in one piece - no sleeve seams. The waist adjusts with a matching ribbon drawstring through a casing. Mesh fabric is cotton. The edging, embroidery and ribbons are rayon. Handmade garment. 1910s.
