Antique corset cover reinvented as a beautiful cropped summer blouse.
The blouse has tiny sleeves of cotton bobbin lace, as well as inserted lace panels and lace trim at the neck. Hand embroidery and eyelet work are featured front and back. Pin tucks at centre front and back. Closes at the front with shell buttons. The blue ribbon has been added to the neck, you can easily remove it if you prefer. I have altered the waistband - I removed the original band which was made to fit a tiny corseted waist, and replaced it with a binding of cotton tape, threaded through with narrow satin ribbon to tie at bottom front. Fabric and lace are all cotton. Beautifully handmade item - 1900s-1910s.
