Antique corset cover, cropped camisole, beautifully worked with pin tucks and lace insertion.
White cotton cropped top has a wide, scooped neckline. The front, back and sleeves feature elaborate lace insertion work interspersed with pin tucks and lace trim at the neck and sleeve edges. The original waistband has been removed and a satin casing and drawstring added. Closes at the front with shell buttons beneath a placket, a press stud and tie. Made from pure cotton and cotton lace. The casing is polyester satin ribbon, with a cotton drawstring. 1900-1910s.

Small - please check the back measurement, mid way between the two sleeve seams, as this is where it's smallest.

Condition
Good but modified. Being designed to wear over a tight fitting corset, the raised waist was stupidly tiny. I removed the original buttoning band, let out some of the gathers and added the satin ribbon casing and cotton tape drawstring. I also added the snap fastener beneath the buttons. Otherwise, there is a small hole in the upper back, one pin prick sized hole, a small mark on the lower back and a light mark on the lace at the neck, as shown. The ribbon casing is more ivory than the white of the top.
