Collection of 12 antique shirt studs or waistcoat buttons. Used with pre-1960s menswear, where both sides of a closure have buttonholes, particularly for shirts and waistcoats. Edwardian women's blouses also used these. Used for menswear up until the 1950s, to make laundering easier.
1. Set of six mother of pearl look shirt studs with chrome coloured pins. Buttons are slightly concave. Probably glass.
12 mm in diameter (a fraction smaller than 1/2"). Excellent condition. Pins may not be original.
2. Four small waistcoat buttons with brass coloured centre and pin. Three are a matching mother of pearl look glass. One odd one is white bone, you could fudge it if you needed a fourth. 10 mm in diameter (3/8"). Excellent condition. Pins not original.
3. Two odd buttons, one beige bone or horn with brass coloured centre and pin. 15 mm in diameter (almost 5/8"). Good condition. Pin not original.
One rounded mother of pearl button, glass. Pin not original. Good condition.
