Wonderful handmade black, red and white patchwork dress from the hilltribe peoples of Vietnam, Laos or Thailand.
It is ankle/lower calf length and has elbow length sleeves and a metal zip closure at the front to waist level. Split at the centre front hem to the knee. The unique triangle/diamond motifs suggest the work of the Hmong people. Made from pure cotton.
Very difficult to date accurately as there are no labels and the use of metal zips and cotton thread which could help date "western" vintage clothing continued in this region long after they were discontinued in developed economies. 1970s-Y2K.

Condition
Good condition. The black is a bit faded. The thread used to outline the patchwork has gone a bit fluffy, a couple of small worn spots, not holes, as shown.
