Vintage horseshoe shaped box for storing detachable collars. Two collars included.
Brown leather collar box has a tooled horseshoe design on the lid, with the text "Good Luck" and "Collars". The box is lined with blue cotton and hinged with a leather flap. Closes with a push latch or tuck lock, stamped with the catch brand - Tucktite, and the patent number 234004/24, indicating that's it's a British mechanism made in 1924. Also stamped "English Make".
Two wing tip collars are included - one is starched stiff as a board and appears to have lived in this box for a long time - very faintly stamped "Aust. Patent Hudson - 24/6/24". The brand is illegible.
The second collar is a cotton collar of later make, possibly 1950s, stamped "Boomerang - London Stores Ltd. - Opposite GPO", which was a Melbourne store. Also marked as an Imperial Dress collar, and bears the owner's name: McCoy, as laundry markings.
