Is your name Fiona, Frances or Florence?
Three hand embroidered white on white handkerchiefs. Two have corners with embroidered F monograms. These two, clearly made by the same person, are hand hemmed and have mitred corners. The large F hankie has a self-stripe in the weave at the border and appears to be a very fine linen. The smaller F hankie is cotton. The third handkerchief is linen and has eyelet embroidery in one corner and an embroidered scalloped edging. All home made. Eyelet hankie is likely 1940s-1950s. F hankies probably 1900-1930s.
Measurements and Condition
Two in good condition with small marks. One in fair condition with holes.
Large F hankie: 33 x 34 cm (13 x 13.5"). Three small holes, largest 2 x 3 mm (1/8") and a spot.
Small F hankie: 27 x 29 cm (10.5 x 11.5"). A rusty mark in the centre.
Eyelet hankie: 28 x 28 cm (11 x 11"). A few pin prick sized spots.
