Dress with a black and purple velvet bodice and a fairly full, black and purple plaid taffeta skirt. Mid-calf length dress has a slightly raised waist, front braid and button trim and skirt pleated into the waist. It's full enough to wear a petticoat beneath if you choose, see photo 6. Closes at the side with a metal zipper. Brand is Teena Paige. Late 1950s.
