Two faded ecru linen handkerchiefs, look more like cream. Beautifully handmade hankies. The bottom hanky demonstrates skilfull drawn thread work, including a drawn border.
The top hanky has a scalloped edging of lovely bobbin lace. The bottom hanky is linen, and I think the top hanky is a super fine linen. Made probably in the first half of the 20th century.
Measurements & Condition
Bottom hanky measures 23 x 24 cm (9 x 9.5"). In good condition, there are a few areas worn very thin, almost holes.
Top hanky measures 21 x 22 cm (8.25 x 8.75"). It has two holes, a spot worn thin and a faint mark. See photos for details.
