From the estate of legendary Australian actor, Charles "Bud" Tingwell. Tingwell was a veteran of more than 60 movies and 20 TV shows in Australia and the UK. Read more about Bud and the collection on my blog.
Charcoal grey/light black pure wool overcoat from the period when Tingwell was living and working in London. This is a very heavy coat for the coldest weather. The neck has a notched collar and the option of being worn buttoned closed to keep out those cold winds. The cuffs feature wide, shaped cuffs. There is a long vest at the back which can be buttoned down. Two front pockets have flaps and are lined with velvet. There is a heavy rayon satin half lining, which comes to below the armholes at the back, and one interior breast pocket. Made by Aquascutum, 100 Regent St, London. Late 1950s.
